ABOUT
MTO Film and Television is an award winning independent film and television production company based in Connecticut. Since 2000, the company has produced short and feature films in multiple genres, including regional Emmy award nominee "Kidd's Gold", and the homeless drama "Lost & Found", both of which aired on local PBS affiliate CPTV. MTO has also produced the horror feature film "Creepy Crawley" and the comedy feature film "Grandpa is a Weirdo!"
On the television side, MTO produced the multi-generational family comedy series "Welcome to Grandpaville", which ran for 3 seasons from 2013-2016, the TV movie "Grandpaland", and several television pilots.
MTO has also produced two "Halloween" inspired short fan films: "Shot-For-Shot Halloween" (2018) and "Halloween: Michael VS Michael" (2019), both of which have been recognized with horror/suspense award nominations at numerous horror film festivals.
In 2021 MTO produced a concept trailer for "Crescent", a proposed horror/suspense/drama series currently being pitched to streaming services. And in 2022, MTO released the new short film "The Legend of Two Pines", currently streaming on YouTube. The film has been recognized by multiple film festivals worldwide.
In 2023, MTO expanded it's offerings by adding Beacon Trail Studios, a dedicated film shingle created exclusively to produce captivating and heartwarming stories designed to inspire and uplift audiences. Beacon Trail is set to explore a wide range of subjects and themes, each woven into narratives that leave a lasting impact. Beacon's first project "SIGN MAN" is an inspirational short film scheduled for release in 2025.
MTO is also proud to have supported the local arts community by offering opportunities to actors of all ages, especially young actors (many of whom are just getting their start), and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). MTO and Beacon Trail are big supporters of the Special Olympics and Best Buddies organizations.
